How to Setup Messaging & Branding
Access Level: Firm Administrator
Objective:
Customize your firm’s branding and messaging in the Modern Client Feedback Tool (CFT). This step-by-step walkthrough will guide you through setting up your firm’s appearance, logo, signature, and survey messages (invitation, reminder, and thank you). These settings help align the client experience with your brand’s voice and style.
Step 1: Open the Branding Settings
From the Modern dashboard:
- Click the Settings icon on the left-hand side
- Select My Firm from the settings menu
- Click Manage Company Branding and Messaging

Before You Begin: Adding Multiple Companies or Brands
If your firm manages more than one brand or company, you can set up additional branding versions.
To add another company or brand:
- Click the plus icon with a box around it, located to the right of the section labeled Branding version. This creates a new branding profile where you can repeat the setup steps for each unique brand.
Step 2: Set Up Appearance
You will first land on the Appearance page. This is where you define the visual styling for your surveys.

Font: Select a font that aligns with your firm’s visual identity.

Color selection – Choose colors for each of the following branding elements:

Primary – Used for the category bar, SKIP button, and navigation arrows

Secondary – Used for the Met Expectations scale

Accent – Used as the background color for response boxes

Click Next to proceed to the Logo page.
Step 3: Upload Your Logo
On the Logo page, you can upload your firm’s logo.

Click Upload Logo and select your image file.

Ensure your logo meets these file requirements:

File types: .jpg, .png, .gif

Minimum height: 5px
-
File size: Less than 4 MB

Color format: RGB

Click Next to proceed to the Signature page.
Step 4: Customize the Signature
On the Signature page, you’ll customize the footer content that appears in your messaging.

Adjust the logo size and placement to suit your branding.

Edit the signature text to include relevant information like name, title, or department.
- Use short codes from the Insert picklist to automatically personalize each message with the sender’s details.
Note: Short codes are placeholders you can insert into your message that automatically fill in details like the sender’s name, title, or email address. These pull information directly from your firm’s account, so each message is personalized without manual updates.
Click Next to move to the Invitation Message page.
Step 5: Add the Invitation Message
On the Invitation message page, define the message your clients receive when first invited to complete a survey.

Write the invitation message content.

Use the formatting options and click Insert picklist to apply short codes as needed.

Click Next to move to the Reminder Message page.
Step 6: Add the Reminder Message
On the Reminder message page, define the message your clients receive when reminded to complete a survey.
- Repeat the steps from the Invitation.

Click Next to move to the Thank You Message page.
Step 7: Add the Thank You Message
On the Thank You message page, define the message your clients see after completing a survey.-
Write your thank you message content.

Format as needed and use short codes to personalize.
Optional:

Add a signature. To do so, check the Include signature box.

Include a custom link to your website:

Check the Include custom link box

Add your website URL to the Custom button link box

Add your desired button label to the Custom button text box
- Add your desired button label (e.g., “Visit Our Website”) to the Custom button text box

Click Finish and it will return you to the Firm customization page.
