Add New Projects (Batch Import)

To add multiple projects to your account in Client Feedback Tool (CFT) at one-time, you can do so via the import process. Please follow the steps below:

  1. From the modern dashboard, use the left-hand navigation panel to select Settings, then click Projects to open the Projects page. This will take you to the legacy side of the tool.

  2. Under the Projects management window, select Batch Import.

  3. Next, download the Project Import Template file.
    1. Click Template, followed by the Get Template Download button. This action will initiate the automatic download of the Project Import Template file to your device.
  4. When the Project Import Template file opens, you will want to enter data in the following required fields:
    1. Project Number
    2. Project Name
    3. Project Groups
    4. (Optional) The Project Import file also allows you to assign a different datasets right from the import file.
      1. Project Types
      2. Project Manager Emails
      3. Company Number
      4. Company Name
      5. Company Type
      6. Vendor Name
      7. Vendor Type
    5. You can also tell the Client Feedback Tool (CFT) how to handle duplicates that exist both in your import file and already within the system. Below is a breakdown of each option:
      1. Ignore Duplicates: CFT will skip any entries in the import file that match existing project numbers, contact emails, or user emails. These records will not be updated or imported—they will simply be ignored.
      2. Merge Duplicates: This option combines the data from both the import file and what’s already in CFT.
        • For example, if an existing project has types “Type 1” and “Type 2” with “User 1” as the project manager, and the imported version has “Type 3” and “User 2,” the final result will include Types 1, 2, and 3 with User 1 and User 2 as managers.

        • If the project name in the import file is different, CFT will use the name from the import.

      3. Replace Duplicates: This option overwrites all existing metadata tied to the matching project number, contact, or user.
        • Using the same example, the project would be updated to include only “Type 3” and User 2 as the project manager—removing all prior values.

  5. After entering the new project's data, please save the template to your device. Then, navigate back to the User Management window in CFT, select Batch Setup, and proceed to select Upload.

  6. In the Upload Batch Template pop-up window, click the Select File button. This action will allow you to choose the Project Import file that you saved.

  7. Once the file has been uploaded successfully, click Read.

  8. This screen will allow you to review the data that is being uploaded. Make sure to review all data fields to ensure accuracy. Also review the Summary of Project Import box in the lower right-hand corner to ensure the total number matches the total number of projects you are trying to create/upload.

  9. When review is complete, and to complete the import process, select Import.

  10. (Optional) After your template has been successfully imported, you may review the status box located in the lower left-hand corner. Additionally, you have the option to select "View Detailed Log," which will generate an Excel file displaying all records that were processed, indicating both successful and unsuccessful entries.
